Investment banking in West Africa
Intermediation, securities placement and mergers & acquisitions, with an entry point in Conakry for the entire sub-region.
Investment banking in West Africa remains concentrated around the long-established financial centres of the WAEMU zone. Guinea, which lies outside this monetary zone, has its own framework — that of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG) — and remains underserved by the major regional investment banks.
AXIS FINANCE occupies this specific entry point: a finance house based in Conakry, able to act on Guinean transactions while providing access, through a network of correspondents and licensed partners, to regional and international markets.
The business covers intermediation in financial instruments, placement and syndication of securities, mergers & acquisitions advisory, and the structuring of complex financing — the traditional activities of an investment bank, carried out with a local understanding of the West African context.
What sets our approach apart.
An integrated value chain
Analysis, structuring, intermediation and execution under a single signature — a rare configuration in the Guinean market, where these businesses remain spread across independent players.
Access to international markets
Our network of correspondents and duly licensed partners provides access to regional and international markets without multiplying intermediaries.
Alignment of interests
We are not remunerated on turnover. Advice that recommends not trading is still remunerated advice.

What we are asked most often.
Does AXIS FINANCE operate outside Guinea?
Yes, our advisory and structuring mandates extend across West Africa, and access to international markets is provided through correspondents and partners duly licensed in their jurisdiction.
How does it differ from a commercial bank?
A commercial bank lends from its own balance sheet. An investment banking house such as AXIS FINANCE structures and intermediates transactions on behalf of third parties — issuers, investors, companies — without necessarily committing its own balance sheet.
Do you work with international institutional investors?
Yes, in particular for access to locally structured investment opportunities. See our investment opportunities.
